Ruffles Terms and Conditions
Ruffles Hen Hotel
- As experienced poultry owners we look after all visiting poultry with the same care and attention that we give our own. However, all hens stay with us at the owners risk and we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to birds whilst they are in our care. If your hens are valuable please obtain your own insurance cover.
- All hens will be inspected on arrival. We reserve the right to refuse admission to hens if they are showing signs of infection, injury or are in poor condition.
- All visiting hens are kept in their own groups in their own dedicated house and secure run which will have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between visitors.
- Visiting hens are not able to free-range during their stay or mix with any other hens on site.
- Hen housing and runs are cleaned/ bedding topped up/changed as required during the stay.
- We provide as standard Smallholders Layers Pellets (soya-free and small so suitable for bantam hens) and mixed corn. If your hens have additional or different dietary requirements please provide this on arrival in a sealed container.
- Should a bird become unwell during its stay we will contact you to discuss your preferred course of action.
- If veterinary intervention is required this will be at your expense and we will endeavour to ensure we’ve discussed this with you ahead of taking this action.
- Where possible we will use your own vet, but if distance makes this impractical we will us our own farm vet – Delaware Veterinary Group in Castle Cary.
- For new clients we require a 25% non-refundable deposit (except if we have to cancel a booking due to Avian Flu restrictions) to secure a booking for a Hen Hotel, with the balance due on arrival with your hens.
- Hens can be dropped off after dark – they are easiest to catch and crate for transporting when they’ve gone to roost for the night so we recommend this is the best time to do so, likewise collection is far easier after they’ve gone in to roost.
- Please bring your hens in secure carriers – cat carriers are ideal for this. Alternatively, we have some hen crates which can be loaned ahead of your need to travel should you wish to borrow them.
- If you need to change the duration of your hens stay after dropping them off please let us know, we will do our best to accommodate.
- Any additional charges must be settled prior to collecting your hens.
Ruffles Pet Visiting Service
- By engaging the services of Ruffles Pet Visiting Service, run by Bex Maynard, I (the client) agree to the following:
Provide written details of my pet(s) to include:- Feed – type, amount, routine
- Medical needs
- Registered Vet
- Pet insurance details if applicable
- Local emergency contact if available
- I am happy that Bex knows and understands my pets individual requirements and will continue to provide their daily care during my absence.
- Ruffles Pet Visiting service will be provided for the agreed period for the rate agreed. I will make payment in full ahead of the start date of the contract.
- I agree to reimburse Bex for any additional costs incurred for any unexpected home, food or other requirements.
- I expressly waive and relinquish any and all claims against Bex Maynard, T/A Ruffles Pet Visiting Service and it is understood and agreed that Bex will not be held responsible for any damage to your property, or that of others, caused by your pet(s) during the period in which they are in her care.
- I agree to notify Bex of any illness, injury or behavioural problems pertaining to my pet(s) during the time this contract is in place. I understand that Bex reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if the nature of the illness, injury or behavioural issue cannot be catered for.
- I will ensure that my pet(s) has had any necessary vaccinations and boosters and that regular treatment for fleas and worms is given. I will not hold Bex responsible for any flea or worm infestations that I notice nor for any illness or diseases that occur.
- If I need to cancel any pet services arranged, I understand that I must give at least 24 hours notice otherwise I will be liable for the full cost of the service.
- I authorise this contract to be valid approval for services provided by Bex Maynard, T/A Ruffles Pet Visiting Service and to permit acceptance of my telephone and email reservations and allow her to enter my premises without any additional signed contracts or written authorisations.
- I give my permission for Bex to contact me via text SMS, WhatsApp, phone or email to discuss any bookings of services and understand my details will not be shared to any third parties without my consent.
- I will ensure that access is given to my property to enable Bex to fulfil her contractual obligations
- I agree to authorise Bex to handle any emergencies that may arise. She will make every effort to contact me; however I give authority to Bex to act in my pet(s) best interest.
- If my pet(s) should require medical attention in my absence I authorise Bex to use her judgement and approve any treatment as she and/or a veterinary professional deems necessary.
- Bex agrees to keep me informed of any such action and costs involved
- I will reimburse any out of pocket expenses incurred which can include travel, vet treatment and time if beyond the time Bex would normally spend with my pets.
- I give permission for my pet(s) to be photographed occasionally for use on Bex’ website and Facebook Page and for identification purposes in the event of an emergency.
